The Fashion Market: Innovation and Fashion Forecasting

SESA01, stand-alone course, 5 credits

Are you interested in fashion and trends? Do you want to learn about how trends are created, how trend analysis can be done and what role innovation can play in this work? Are you already a professional in the fashion industry and want to deepen your knowledge? Or are you an active student who wants to broaden your education?
Apply to our stand-alone course Fashion Market: Innovation and Fashion Forecasting (5 credits).

Trend analysis is a creative process that aims to map and analyze cultural changes in society in order to predict the future. The purpose of the course is for the student to acquire knowledge of how trend analysis can be understood, as well as how innovation creates new conditions for how trend analysis can be done. Innovation here refers to how new digital tools can be used in trend analysis, and what challenges the use of these tools can entail. The course contains different theoretical perspectives on trend analysis and takes a critical perspective on how trend analysis is carried out by organizations and actors. During the course, the student also gains insight into how different organizations work with trend analysis through guest lectures with different actors.
